Trade licence pathway
Mechanical, electrical and body repair experience.
Automotive RPL pathways cover mechanical repair, automotive electrical work and body repair across light and heavy vehicles. Assessors look at diagnostic ability, the range of repair work performed, and adherence to manufacturer and workplace safety procedures.
A nationally recognised qualification may support a trade licence application, but your state regulator makes the final decision and sets its own criteria.
Specialisation is normal in automotive trades. Your evidence will be assessed against the specific qualification and units relevant to your area of practice, whether that's light vehicle, heavy vehicle or automotive electrical work.
